by Danijela Radanovic · World of Cleo's Adventure(s)
Lena lives alone at the end of the village, in a white cottage with green shutters and one very old pear tree. She has a cat, a neighbour who comes on Mondays, and a spoon she has stirred her tea with every morning for years. One Monday the spoon is gone. In its place, in the sugar bowl, is a stone - smooth, warm, and singing. What follows is a story about a crooked threshold, a cloud that knows when you're lying, a magpie who loses her name, and a cat who saved a world and hasn't quite forgiven herself for how she did it. It is also, less obviously, a story about the things we say out loud and the things we don't - and what happens in a house when both of those finally meet.
