1. Who is responsible
Spark of Tales is operated by Marko Kostic, sole proprietor, Serbia ("we"). This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the Platform and why. Contact: support@sparkoftales.com.
2. What we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider).
- Content: the stories, worlds, comments, questions, and suggestions you create.
- Activity: books you follow, unlock, and read; reading position; reputation events; participation in writing events.
- Earnings data: your wallet ledger and, if you save them, payout details (PayPal email or bank account details). We never see or store card numbers; those go directly to our payment processor.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser) kept briefly for security and debugging.
3. What we use it for
- Running the Platform: your library, reading progress, gamification, and notifications.
- Processing purchases, subscriptions, earnings, and payouts.
- Emailing you about events you joined and important account matters.
- Preventing fraud and abuse of Platform mechanics.
We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party advertising.
4. Who processes it for us
- Supabase: database and authentication hosting.
- Vercel: application hosting.
- Paddle: merchant of record for purchases and subscriptions (they process your payment data under their own privacy policy).
- PayPal: sending payouts to writers and contributors who choose PayPal.
- Resend: transactional email delivery.
5. Cookies
We use only functional cookies: your session, your interface language, and small preferences such as a dismissed welcome panel. No tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your profile, content, follows, and reading records. Financial records (sales, payouts) are retained as required for accounting and tax law, detached from your deleted profile.
7. Your rights
You can access and edit your data in the app, export your writing (Word export in the book panel), and delete your account yourself. For anything else, including data access or correction requests, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Age
The Platform is not intended for children under 16.
9. Changes
We will announce material changes to this policy on the Platform. The current version always lives at this address. See also the Terms of Service.
